Since August 9, 2020 Belarus has been in a political crisis. The crisis was caused by inadmissible violations during the electoral process, counting of votes in the election of the President of the Republic of Belarus, the official results of which the Belarusian society did not recognize and expressed its protest.
We, the Public Association Biedrība "BDR Serenity", Riga, Latvia, as representatives of the Belarusian society, declare that the decisions and actions of law enforcement bodies and state officials in response to public protest directly violate the rights of citizens and lead to the growth of violence and lawlessness in the country.
We believe that the only acceptable and civilized way to resolve the situation is to organize negotiations between the two sides: representatives of the protesting society and representatives of the political authorities.
We recognize the Coordination Council, created on the initiative of Sviatlana Tihanovska, as the single representative of the protesting party, with the aim of organizing the process of overcoming the political crisis and ensuring harmony in society.
With this statement we express our full confidence in the Coordination Council and transfer the right to represent our interests in negotiations with the Belarusian authorities. The subject of the negotiations should be the requirements set out in the Resolution of the Coordinating Council of 19.08.2020:
1. Termination of political persecution of citizens of the Republic of Belarus by the authorities, bringing the perpetrators of violence to justice, initiation of criminal proceedings.
2. release of all political prisoners, abolition of illegal court decisions, payment of compensation to all victims.
3. Recognition of the August 9, 2020 elections as invalid and holding new elections in accordance with international standards with a new composition of all election commissions, including the Central Election Commission.

Заявление о признании Координационного Совета
С 9 августа 2020 года Беларусь находится в политическом кризисе. Кризис был вызван недопустимыми нарушениями в ходе избирательного процесса, подсчета голосов на выборах Президента Республики Беларусь, официальные результаты которых белорусское общество не признало и выразило свой протест.
Мы, Общественное объединение Biedrība “BDR Serenity”, Riga, Latvia, как представители белорусского общества заявляем, что решения и действия правоохранительных органов, государственных чиновников в ответ на общественный протест напрямую нарушают права граждан, и ведут к росту насилия и беззакония в стране.
Мы считаем, что единственно приемлемым и цивилизованным способом урегулирования ситуации является организация переговоров между двумя сторонами: представителями протестующего общества и представителями политической власти.
Мы признаем единым представителем протестующей стороны - Координационный совет, созданный по инициативе Светланы Тихановской с целью организации процесса преодоления политического кризиса и обеспечения согласия в обществе.
Настоящим заявлением мы выражаем полное доверие Координационному совету и передаем право представлять наши интересы на переговорах с властями Беларуси. Предметом переговоров должны стать требования, изложенные в Резолюции Координационного совета от 19.08.2020:
1. Прекращение политического преследования граждан Республики Беларусь со стороны властей, привлечение виновных в насилии к ответственности, возбуждение уголовных дел.
2. Освобождение всех политзаключенных, отмена незаконных судебных решений, выплата компенсации всем пострадавшим.
3. Признание выборов 9 августа 2020 года недействительными и проведение новых выборов в соответствии с международными стандартами в новом составе всех избирательных комиссий, в том числе Центральной избирательной комиссии.
